HGH Diet – Know How Food Affects HGH in Your Body?

As is the case with any other health condition, your diet plays an important role even when you wish to raise your HGH levels. Intake of proteins, vitamins and nutrients are vital for the good health of your pituitary gland.

Eating healthy food, however, is not enough to increase HGH levels. What and when you eat is just as important. Read on to know what types of foods enhance HGH levels in the body:

Carbohydrates

Carbohydrates are energy givers to the body. The body uses carbohydrates to release insulin. This insulin in turn converts carbohydrates to glucose, the source of energy.Insulin controls blood sugar levels and insulin deficiency causes diabetes, a disease in which the blood sugar levels increase. Insulin has another function and that is of keeping up HGH levels. It has been found that when insulin levels are high, HGH levels fall down and vice versa. This causes weight gain, low energy levels and aging.

It follows from the above that if you want your body to produce more HGH, your insulin levels must be low. At the same time, it should not be so low that it leads to deficiency. To maintain the right levels of insulin and HGH, you must eat the right amount of carbohydrates.

Glycemic Index

Carbohydrates can be subdivided into three types – low, medium and high glycemic index. Glycemic index is a measurement of the effect of carbs on your health. Foods with low glycemic index keep insulin levels low and result in increase of HGH levels. Foods with low Glycemic Index also help to lose weight quickly and in a healthy manner.

Given below is a chart that can help you identify the category of foods along with their Glycemic Index range:

Classification Types of Food Range of Glycemic Index
Low Almost all Vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes and nuts Less than or equal to 55
Medium Whole wheat foods, basmati rice, baked potatoes 56 to 69
High Refined and processed food including most breakfast cereals, root vegetables. 70 and above

Although carrot is a root vegetable with High Glycemic Index, it is a healthy food.

Therefore, it can be seen that foods with Low Glycemic Index keep insulin levels low and HGH levels high. Eating foods that increase insulin levels cause energy from the carbohydrates to be stored as fat if not used immediately.

Eat foods with high Glycemic Index after a workout to regain energy.

This leads to another important finding. Blood sugar levels crash a few minutes after insulin levels increase. Low blood sugar levels cause hunger pangs or craving for energy giving foods. This leads to eating again and the energy from the foods gets stored as fat again. This is a never-ending cycle that not only leads to low HGH levels but also obesity. The way to deal with it is to eat Low Glycemic Index foods.

HGH Supplements

Taking an HGH supplement before bedtime and according to the recommended dosage is also a way to increase HGH levels. It encourages the body to produce natural HGH.

Eat At The Right Time

When you eat is as important as the type of food that you eat. If you are eating past your bedtime, then the body is not going to use it for HGH production even though you are eating the right type of food.  Therefore, plan your meal times properly.

Your body produces maximum HGH during the initial hour of sleep. So, if you eat carbs just before bedtime, the food will lead to release of insulin that will not let the body produce HGH. It is, therefore, essential to eat at least 3 hours before bedtime. If you crave for a late night snack, you should stick to lean proteins.

People are concerned about eating low fat and low calorie diet. But if you see the chart given above, you will notice that most of the diet foods belong to high Glycemic Index category. This leads to frequent hunger pangs making it difficult to lose weight.

Know what you are putting inside your mouth and be healthy. If your goal is to lose weight, remember that you have to increase your HGH levels before you can lose it in a healthy way.
